COULEE CITY – The weather and Covid combined for a double whammy to hit the sports schedule last week. The non-league game against Oakesdale was first moved from Tuesday to Wednesday, then cancelled due to hazardous road conditions. Things settled down some by Friday, when the Tigers went to Coulee City to face Almira-Coulee-Hartline.
Saturday's game was to be played in Wilbur, but a major Covid outbreak there caused that game to be cancelled as well.
In the one game the Tigers played, they struggled to find the basket at all in the first half, scoring only six points to ACH's 39. Nathan Carstensen was the top point scorer with 12 points, while Daeton Deife, back in the lineup after an injury, scored 10 more.
ACH 15 24 18 12 69
Odessa 2 4 10 12 28
Carstensen, Deife and Gage Starkel each had four rebounds to pace the Tiger defense.
Three games are scheduled for this week, Tuesday at home vs. Moses Lake Christian Academy, Friday vs. Mary Walker at Springdale and Saturday at home vs. Soap Lake.
