Eleanor Walter

Eleanor Walter, 90, passed away peacefully on Dec. 17, 2021 in Odessa, Wash. Eleanor was born on Jan. 24, 1931 on the family farm in Odessa, Wash. to Henry and Lottie Braun. She grew up in Odessa and attended school, graduating from Odessa High School in 1949.

Eleanor married Ivan Walter on Feb. 4, 1950 in Odessa and this is where they made their home and raised their daughter, Marilyn. Eleanor was a member of Heritage Church who served on the funeral bereavement committee and taught Sunday school for many years. Eleanor enjoyed taking care of her yard and flower garden and baking pies and cookies.

Eleanor is survived by her daughter Marilyn (Phil) Heninger, granddaughter Anna (William) Russell, and great-granddaughter JoElle Russell, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Ivan Walter in 2020 and two brothers, Wayne Braun and Merle Braun.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Ivan & Eleanor will be held on Friday, Feb. 4, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Heritage Church with Pastor Jon Hayashi, officiating.
