"Kiss the Pig" event successful

After a month and a half of preparation, the "Kiss the Pig" event finally came to fruition on February 5th. The Davenport FBLA Partnership with Business co-chairs, Jesse Raugust, Emma Cormier, and Lexi Cormier put in countless hours preparing for the "Kiss the Pig" event.. At the beginning of the partnership with Care and Share, the co-chairs' goal was to raise $1,500 for their business and the additional costs that would be incurred when they moved locations. The 1st and 2nd place staff finishers combined to raise $1,450. The final fundraising total was $2,321.

We want to give a huge Gorilla THANK YOU to all staff members who participated, and all the students and community members who generously donated to Care and Share through the "Kiss the Pig" fundraiser. Without everyone's generosity this event would have not been as successful. Our 2nd and 3rd place finishers, who both received a pie to the face, were Miss Stephanie Thorson with $718 and Mr. Jeff Gunning with $361. 1st place was awarded to Mr. Chad Prewitt, who brought in $732. Unfortunately, the pig we were going to bring hogged all of the food over the past 3 weeks due to postponement of the event, and now weighs over 100 pounds. Thank you to Abbott Farms for bringing in our last-minute stand-in goat, Peggy! Davenport FBLA is humbled by the amount of generosity shown towards Care and Share. Thank you!
