Rodney Schlimmer

Rodney Schlimmer, 80, McMinnville, TN. resident and Wilbur, Wash. native died Feb. 20, 2022 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville, TN following a sudden illness. Rodney was born May 10, 1941 and was the son of the late Roger and Florence Zimbelman Schlimmer.

Veteran of the United States Air Force and retired Network Operations Manager for Ben Lomand Telephone. He was married to Linda Rowland Schlimmer on Feb. 25, 1967 who preceded him in death on June 16, 2021. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brother, Clark Schlimmer.

Mr. Schlimmer is survived by daughter and son-in-law, June-Ellen and Jimmy Blanks of Tullahoma, TN; one grandson, Dean Blanks of Tullahoma, TN; one sister and brother-in-law, Laurel and Clay Iverson of Edmonds, Wash .; nephew and spouse, Todd and Jamie Burns of Marysville, Wash .; nieces and spouses, Shawn and Gordon Fraing and Megan and Dan Hicks, both of Lynnwood, Wash .; sister-in-law, Barbara Schlimmer of Odessa, Wash. and numerous cousins and in-laws also survive.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022 in High’s Chapel, 101 College Street, McMinnville, TN 37110. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m., CST until time of service at High’s. Full military honors will be administered by American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064.

A separate memorial service will be held in the Odessa area within the next twelve months. Details will be distributed closer to the associated, to be determined, date.
