New city ordinance rough draft approved

HARRINGTON – The city council met for a special meeting on April 6, 2022, to approve or disapprove #505 Critical Area Ordinance’s rough draft.

Council approved the rough draft. The current city maps need to be updated to a more current standard as the ones presented were from 1988.

CAO’s are intended to provide guidance and tools useful in developing a wetland protection program. CAO’s need to meet the Growth Management Act requirements.

While this document does not affect Harrington currently it could affect future land selling opportunities.

More information is being gathered as this approval moves forward.
