ODESSA – The town council met on April 11 to discuss the continued concerns over sidewalks lifting. Multiple areas of town have been affected due to tree roots.
Troy. Eldridge, who has property on 018 W First Ave, attended via Zoom. He had concerns on how to fix the sidewalk and what might happen to the building’s foundation.
The property on 518 South Alder Street caused concern with town citizens over the number of artifacts in the yard. The property manager was not immediately available for comment. Council members discussed possible solutions to help assist the property.
A water leak was reported at 506 East Marjorie Avenue. The issue was fixed immediately.
The Downtown Car Show road closure of Division Street was approved. The Car show will be held on July 3. The operation hours of the event are 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Town Marshal Les Jimerson gave the local police report. An assault was reported and is actively being investigated. Video evidence of a rape is also being investigated. A child was lost and returned to their family immediately. Jimerson completed his DUI training.
No DUIs were reported for the StumpJumper event. There were reports of individuals speeding.
Anthony Paszkeicz reported that for town clean-up they used four dumpsters compared to 2021’s eight. Freon appliances were to be picked up on April 12, 2022.
Water at the city park will be turned on when the weather allows.
Stephen Walter, the town fire chief, thanked the StumpJumpers on behalf of the fire department for putting on a great show and their donations.
Councilmember Vickie Iverson reported concerns from a citizen about the cemetery flag that had been taken down over the winter due to weather damage. The flag has since been put back up.
