HARRINGTON – Third Street was full of treats, sidewalk art, books and sunshine at the Summer Sidewalk sale on Aug. 6.
Harrington PTA and Carolyn Mattozzi sponsored the sidewalk chalk art contest on Aug. 5.
The contest was open to ages 2-18 years of age.
Contest groups were 2-6, 7-12 and 13-18 years old.
Prizes were awarded to each age group and free lemonade was provided to the participants.
The Fries Lemonade stand provided the beverages.
Miss Harrington Aliana Parker and Princess Allie Crawford were guest judges.
Mattozzi, who owns Carolyn’s Cupcakery, etc, gave one strawberry shortcake cupcake free of charge to shoppers that came into The Marketplace during the sale.
The Harrington Opera House Society held a rummage fundraiser. The rummage sale consisted of a large assortment of books.
One book or many could be picked for each donation.
The Post & Office had a table out front that displayed many different flavor options for drinks.
Studio1 on South Third Street had succulents that were displayed outside the business.
Businesses downtown put up displays outside and had deals for shoppers.
The deals and markdowns did not stop at the sidewalk.
Many businesses had markdowns on furniture, gifts, local art and home décor.
There were many vintage finds throughout the sale.
