Serving Lincoln County for more than a century!
DAVENPORT–The Lincoln County Cattlemen's Association is putting its extra beef to good use.
The Spokane Cattlemen's Association contacted Lincoln County Cattlemen's Association President Matt Schneider, who also is an Industry Consultant for the Spokane Cattlemen's Association and local rancher, with an offer to donate beef to a veteran's cause.
Schneider contacted representatives of the Spokane Chapter of the Combat Vets Motorcycle Association (CVMA), who champion veterans' needs throughout the greater Spokane area. Local CVMA member Andy Manke and CVMA 11-3 chapter president Rich Brown have transported over $2,500 worth of ground beef to the Vet's Home in Spokane in four donations from the Cattlemen's Association in four years.
All the meat was purchased, processed and packaged for free by the owners of Davenport Family Foods, Kevin and Sherill Hansen, who have graciously donated their time and material for the veteran's cause.
The senior citizen veterans who live in the Spokane Veteran's Home love ground beef and have enjoyed meals such as meatloaf, spaghetti, tacos, lasagna and other soft foods that can be easily chewed.
