Lydia May Widmer

Feb. 4, 1941 – Sept. 10, 2022

Lydia Widmer passed away on Sept. 10, 2022 in Lincoln Hospital, Davenport, Wash. Her home was Govan, Wash.

She was born Feb. 4, 1941 to O.J. and Betty Bagley in Wilbur. She grew up in the Govan area and attended school in Wilbur graduating in 1959. She married Orville Widmer on Jun. 14, 1959 and the two made their home in Wilbur and later moved to Govan.

Lydia was very active in 4-H for many, many years. The Lincoln County Fair was a special event to Lydia and her family, as they donated many years of service to the fair. Widmer arena is named in their honor.

Lydia is survived by her two children Rhonda Widmer and Lonnie (Ronda) Widmer, one grandson Matthew McGowan and was “Grandma Wilbur” to Baily, Kinsy, Reese, Rhandy, Amber and Hayley. She has two brothers William Bagley and Glen Bagley and two sisters Sharon Bostwick and Doris Shore and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Orville, in 1996.

She was a member of the AQHA, Grand Coulee Grange, Lincoln Co 4-H Leader and honorary Lincoln County Fair Board member. A Celebration of life gathering will be held on Friday, Oct. 7, from 2:00-5:00 PM at the Lincoln County Fairground Dining Hall in Davenport, Wash.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to be made in Lydia’s name to Lincoln County Friends of the Fair, Bryce Bailey, and P.O. Box 252, Harrington, WA 99134. (Please write Lydia Widmer Memorial on the memo line).
