Philip A. Denison, 86, a lifetime resident of the Spokane Indian Reservation passed away Oct. 11, 2022. He was born on Jul. 30, 1936 on the family homestead on the Spokane Indian reservation to Jess and Clara Denison. Philip grew up on the reservation and attended school. After high school Philip joined the US Army and served his country honorably. After returning home Philip worked at various jobs including working for the Lincoln County Sheriff's Dept.
Philip was a jack of all trades and loved working on various projects. But, doing and watching Rodeos were his passion and he put on rodeo events both at his home and in Creston, Wash. He also enjoyed watching boxing too.
Philip was a Spokane Indian Tribal member, US Army Veteran and completed Federal Law Enforcement training.
He is survived by his three children Ferlin Denison, Farin Denison and Arril Denison-Curd along with 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. His two sisters Altha Flett, Sharon Yeager and his brother Danny Denison and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by one son Philip "Buckskin" Denison, two granddaughters, Jeramy and Jessica Denison, along with three brothers Denny, Grant, Harold and four sisters Eileen, Jessie, Wilma and Ardell.
A Celebration of Life services will be held on Nov. 5, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the West End Community Center. Fond memories and expression of sympathy may be shared at http://www.strate-funeral.com for the Denison family. Strate Funeral Home, Davenport, WA is caring for the family.
