Odessa tree lighting draws crowd

ODESSA-Old Town Hall was decorated with Christmas cheer for the annual tree lighting on Sunday, Dec. 4.

Christmas lights strung throughout the hall as people filtered in from the snow. The crowd seemed to enjoy the warmth as it was snowing on and off.

Both Santa and Mrs. Claus made an appearance for those wanting a picture. Many people took multiple.

Tables were lined with red tablecloths with poinsettias on top and other Christmas decorations lined them.

Christmas trees inside were decorated with the holiday spirit.

Chili and hot dogs were served by volunteers and were free of charge for those in attendance.

Hot cocoa was also offered to guests to help combat the snow that had started.

Paul Scheller, president of the Old Town Hall Rejuvenation Society, announced the tree lighting.

Door prizes were given to those that entered the raffle.

The annual tree lighting comes with perfect timing, with the newest renovation being the Hall's new paint job.
