Boys team begins to tally wins
REARDAN - Logan Flaa's sharp shooting in the closing minutes of the first half propelled the Screaming Eagles to a 61-44 NE2B league win over Kettle Falls on Dec. 22.
Behind Jakari Singleton and Rysen Soliday's combined 10 points, Reardan jumped to a 13-9 lead in the first quarter. Kettle Falls bounced back in the second quarter outscoring Reardan 15-9 to take a 24-22 lead with less than two minutes to play in the half.
That's when Flaa took over. He took three long range jump shots, and touching nothing but the net, scored nine points. His flurry of points sent the Screaming Eagles to the locker room leading 31-24.
Soliday and Singleton provided much of the firepower in the second half, scoring nine and eight points, respectively. Along with two more treys from Flaa, Reardan pulled away for the 17-point victory.
Flaa led Reardan scorers with 15 points, followed by Singleton and Soliday, who scored 14 apiece. Cohen Little scored seven points for the Screaming Eagles and Tristo McCrea added six.
Singleton dominated the boards on both ends of the floor. He had several offensive putbacks and defensively, his outlet passes from his team-leading12 rebounds sparked numerous Reardan fast breaks.
Kettle Falls' Zane Edwards led all scorers with 19 points.
"We knew Kettle is always going to work hard," Reardan head coach Brian Graham said. "If we hadn't given up a little run in the second quarter, we could have blown the door open a little earlier. It was nice to see that Logan Flaa bounced back after having a tough couple of games. I'm happy with the way Logan and Jakari played. (Evan) Krupke coming off the bench has been a real bonus for us lately."
The win improved Reardan's league record to 2-2. Kettle Falls dropped to 1-4.
