Serving Lincoln County for more than a century!
REARDAN – A balanced scoring attack propelled the Screaming Eagles to their most lopsided win of the year as they defeated Asotin, 77-53, on Friday, Jan. 21.
The Screaming Eagles’ 3-point shots fell early and often.
By the end of the game, 14 had fallen through the net in an impressive display of marksmanship.
Logan Flaa led the way, making four, followed by Rysen Soliday and Evan Krupke, who each made two.
Cohen Little, Bryson Flaa, Owee Handley, Zander Thornton, Jakari Singleton, and Landon Bell each made one 3-point basket.
After the first quarter, Asotin led, 20-17.
After that, the shots fell for Reardan, which piled on 24 points in the second quarter.
In the second half, Reardan outscored the Panthers 36-22 en route to the 77-53 win.
Soliday led all players with 17 points.
“The entire team knew we had to play hard tonight,” Soliday said. “That’s exactly what we did.
“We came out hitting our shots. We couldn’t miss and they couldn’t keep up. Jakari had an excellent game. We didn’t lean on him for scoring, but he held down the paint for us.”
Flaa scored 16 points for Reardan. Singleton added 10 points, hauled in 11 rebounds and blocked five shots. Krupke scored 8 points and Handley and Little scored 6 and 5 points, respectively.
A.J. Olerich led the Panthers with 16 points.
“Everybody scored tonight,” Reardan Coach Brian Graham said. “Big smiles, big happy kids. It’s great to get back on track.
“Getting a big old W in our gym feels great. We shared the ball and shot it very well. Jakari didn’t have to be the man tonight. He and the others had a ton of blocked shots. Rysen, Evan and Logan all played great. This win sets us up well for our next game.”
The win improved the Screaming Eagles’ record to 4-7 in Northeast 2B play. Asotin dropped to 2-7.
