ODESSA - The Tigers girls basketball team dominated the Curlew Cougars 58-20 in a District 7 1B quarterfinal matchup Wednesday, Feb. 8.
The Tigers dominated from the opening tip, with senior Grace Nelson, junior Hayden Schuh and senior Ashlyn Neilsen leading the scoreboard.
The Cougars could not score in the first quarter, with Odessa holding a commanding 20-0 lead by its end.
Curlew scored 10 points in the second quarter, but Odessa scored another 20 points and by halftime, the Tigers were up 40-10.
Odessa continued to dominate the scoreboard against Curlew in the third quarter.
The Cougars could not get the ball in the paint, resulting in fast-break points for Odessa in the period.
Curlew only scored three points during the third quarter to Odessa's 16. As a result, the Cougars fell further behind by its end, 56-13.
With the starters out in the fourth quarter, Odessa scored another two points to Curlew's seven for the final 38-point margin.
Senior Grace Nelson and Hayden Schuh score 12 points a piece.
Nelson had two three-point shots. Junior Melloney Deife scored nine points.
Freshman Ashley Zagelow had two three-point shots and scored eight points.
The Tigers advanced to the district semifinals with the win and will take on top-seeded Inchelium at 3:45 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 at Medical Lake High School.
