District Court receives grant

DAVENPORT — A technical assistance grant program aimed at improving defendant appearance rates selected Lincoln County District Court as one of six courts nationwide to receive such a grant.

The program, which is funded by the National Center for State Courts and the Pew Charitable Trusts, hopes to find ways to make court appearances more accessible for defendants, District Court administrator Renee Honey said. The grants netted each recipient an iPad and free consulting services to make recommendations for improvements.
