The importance of wrestling with God

It’s no mistake that God’s ancient people, Israel, was named after its forefather, Jacob. The name “Israel” means something like, “wrestles with God.” God renamed Jacob “Israel” because Jacob physically wrestled with Him all night and wouldn’t let go (Genesis 32). Jacob wouldn’t let go of Him until He blessed him, even after God dislocated His hip. All those who are God’s wrestle with Him as Jacob did.
