Local teams take to the diamond

Odessa, Reardan teams pick up wins

DAVENPORT-Lincoln County baseball and softball teams were all in action this week, with the Odessa and Reardan baseball squads being the only to pick up wins.

Odessa fell to Almira-Coulee/Hartline in a doubleheader 7-1 and 21-10 Saturday, April 22.

The Tigers bounced back with a 7-6 win in the first game of a doubleheader against Wellpinit Tuesday, April 26, but the Redskins exacted some revenge with a 21-10 victory in the succeeding match.

The Tigers are currently 7-8 and sit in fifth place in the NE1B. Odessa hosts Springdale in a doubleheader at noon Saturday, April 29.

The Reardan baseball squad snapped a seven-game losing streak with an 11-4 win over Lind-Ritzville/Sprague Tuesday, April 25. The Broncos topped the Screaming Eagles in the first game of the doubleheader 10-9.

Reardan fell to Colfax 3-2 and 11-1 Friday, April 21. The Screaming Eagles are 5-12 this season and are awaiting placement for their first district matchup.

Davenport softball played six games in the last week, dropping all.

The Gorillas fell to Medical Lake 21-4 and 14-4 in a nonleague doubleheader Thursday, April 20, Kettle Falls 16-10 and 14-8 Saturday, April 22 and Asotin 20-7 and 15-1 Tuesday, April 25.

The Gorillas are 3-13 this season and host Chewelah at noon Saturday, April 29.

Reardan softball is on a five-game losing streak, having lost to Colfax 17-0 and 12-2 last Friday and LRS 11-1 and 12-0. Tuesday.

Reardan doesn't play again until a doubleheader at home against Asotin on May 9.
