Serving Lincoln County for more than a century!

Odessa - Sometimes, you just need to take a drive. Whether it's a quick 20-minute getaway or a four-hour day trip, going for a drive is a method people often employ to clear the head and see more of the world.
And some of those drives are right here in Lincoln County.
This week's drive heads across the dry hills and scablands between Harrington and Odessa...the back way. From Harrington, head west on Coffeepot Road across State Highway 28. Turn left shortly down the way to stay on Coffeepot.
This stretch offers views of rolling wheat hills and the Selkirk Mountains to the north on a clear day, with expansive, starry skies if taken at night.
Continue west and consider a stop at Coffeepot Lake Campground for serene lake and scabland views. The campground can also be reserved for overnight stays and is a popular spot for fishermen.
Enjoy the hilly, vast farmland as you enter Odessa and complete the loop back toward Harrington using Duck Lake Road. The road into Odessa eventually leads to State Highway 21 and enters downhill from the north, offering a neat view of the town and surrounding farmland.
The way back toward Harrington on Duck Lake Road offers similar farmland and scabland scenery. Pay attention to construction work being done on Duck Lake Road while admiring the farmhouses and vast skies offered in West Central Lincoln County.
Complete the trip by circling back into Harrington by intersecting with Highway 28 at Duck Lake Road.
