Preuschoff advances to second day
SPOKANE VALLEY — Reardan’s three boys tennis players were at West Valley High School Wednesday, May 10 seeking to advance to the second day of districts at Whitworth University Saturday, May 13.
Sophomore Edmund Preuschoff achieved such a goal, but fellow sophomores Avery Harrison and Dominic Board were unable to advance Wednesday.
The girls don’t start district play until Saturday at Whitworth. In the singles department, Sophomore Kerstin Lundgren will battle St. George’s sophomore Jessie Sawyer, while sophomore Hailey Fry will battle Kettle Falls senior Robyn Wright in the first round.
Davenport’s lone competitor, Kaitlynne Guhlke, will face St. George’s eighth-grader Reagan Heller.
Reardan senior Khanh Linh Ho and freshman Elyanna Crego will face St. George’s senior Annie Sawyer and freshman Kalea Schlenker in doubles competition.
The top two girls singles and doubles finishers through the district and regional rounds advance to state.
This year’s state competition is at the Yakima Tennis Club Friday, May 26 and Saturday, May 27.
