State results for Davenport, Odessa, Reardan

YAKIMA - For the first time, Lincoln County's top track and field athletes joined the best 2B and 1B competitors in the state at Zaepfel Stadium on the campus of Eisenhower High School for the Track and Field Championships Thursday, May 25-Saturday, May 27.

The sun beat down on the turf and track for 2.5 days before the clouds rolled in and a lightning strike forced a 2-hour delay Saturday. When all the dust settled, local teams had yielded four state champions and 16 medalists.

As teams, Odessa's girls finished fourth for 1B and Davenport's girls were fourth for 2B. No local boys teams podiumed.

Davenport had a county-high 24 competitors in Yakima, while Odessa had 14 athletes and Reardan five.
