Rainwater up for Athlete of the Year
DAVENPORT — The 2B state champion boys basketball team is one of three finalists for Region Boys High School Team of the Year in the 2023 Spokane Youth Sports Awards. Award winners will be announced at a downtown Spokane ceremony Tuesday, May 20.
Davenport, the Wellpinit boys basketball team and the Chewelah boys cross country team are the candidates for the Region award.
Recently graduated Tennessee Rainwater is up for Region boys Athlete of the Year against Medical Lake’s Reid Headrick and Freeman’s Boen Phelps.
The first in-person award ceremony in four years is at the Fox Theater at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Teams and individuals will arrive on the red carpet at 5 p.m.
