Military weekend upcoming at Rail Museum

REARDAN — Independence Day celebrations mean added perks for military veterans at the Inland Northwest Rail Museum this weekend.

“Quilts of valor” will be displayed and made for veterans at the museum, 27300 Sprinkle Road North.

With valid military identification, men and women with military experience will receive free admission to the museum Thursday, June 29-Sunday, July 2.

Other free activities for veterans will include museum tours, rides on the 2-foot gauge train, a visit to the restoration center and visiting restored railcars.

Those outside the military can be admitted to the museum for $12 as adults, $10 as seniors and $6 as children 5-12.

Town Hall renovations run into issues

Odessa – Mayor Bill Crossley updated the Town Council on the status of the Town Hall renovations during Monday night’s meeting, June 26.

Crossley said concrete floors that had been previously poured would need to be redone due to complications. Flooring will be re-poured in mid-August.

He also reported on new door jams being incorrectly prepared.

Painting is currently underway, he said, noting the city will “request a new coat” of paint as the current coat is too light.
