Christian music takes spotlight
DAVENPORT – Approximately 150 people attended Jesus Fest 2023, a Christian music festival in the park, on Thursday, July 6.
The community outreach event was organized by Trinity Bible Fellowship and featured Alison Sears, a student at Christian Heritage School and Seattle Worship Pastor Brandon Bee.
John Doyle, associate pastor at Trinity Bible Fellowship, said the theme of the event was "Shining the light of Christ to energize His believers."
Sears is a soon-to-be senior at Cheney High School.
Performing with her band – which also happens to be her family – said she is honored to be included in the event and excited that her family could share the stage with Bee.
"This is such a cool event," she said. "It's such a great opportunity to be able to share God's love."
Bee is an accomplished performer who travels the Pacific Northwest sharing a message of hope through his music.
EQ Worship, a band from the Tri-Cities, accompanied him.
Besides singing songs he wrote, Bee led the audience in contemporary worship songs and hymns. One of his goals for the evening was to stress the simplicity of the gospel message.
"It is so simple that regardless of age, any person can understand and share it," he said. "There are a lot of crazy things going on in the world and we want to bring faith, hope and love back into our communities. Tonight, we especially want the people of Davenport to know that God loves their town."
Besides the concert, the event included vendors, games for children, and free refreshments
