Question 1: How should Council be involved with the enforcement of Town Ordinances, i.e. cleaning up public areas around town? I feel the Council should play a large part in enforcing the Town’s Ordinances and Resolutions. The Council votes to put the rules and policies into place so it should be our duty to follow up on the enforcement of them. We are a small town with limited staff and enforcement. I firmly believe the council plays a key role in bettering our community.

Question 2: How will you improve or maintain communication between Mayor and Council? Communication is key when working together for the common good of our community. I currently serve on the Council. We have an open style, well-oiled communication between Mayor and Council. Our council works well together to improve our community, while listening to our residents’ concerns and taking them into consideration when decision making. Maintaining our current communication between the Mayor and Council is working well and I hope we can continue moving forward with such.

Question 3: What are your ideas for community development? How would you carry those out? I would love to see our community thrive again. We are a small community and much of the town has closed over the last decade for multiple reasons. My idea would be to have businesses come to Odessa and thrive. Having residents shopping locally, rather than outside of town would help stimulate our economy. I may be one voice, but one voice is all that is needed to get the momentum moving forward with growth and opportunity.
