Wagner, Kramer, Crossley surge ahead

One vote separates two Sprague candidates

ODESSA—Incumbent mayor Bill Crossley and councilwoman Marlene Kramer appear well on their way to the general election after another round of primary election votes were counted Thursday, Aug. 3.

Crossley has 216 votes, vastly ahead of second-place Jeremy Smith (53) and third-place Ed Hayden (32). Barring a surprising surge by Hayden, Smith will advance to face Crossley in the November general election.

The top two candidates in each race advance to the general.

Kramer, meanwhile, had a race-leading 152 votes for Odessa Councilmember No. 5. She’ll likely face Laura Caler, whose 105 votes is well ahead of third-place Michael Igo’s 42 votes.

Gavin Wagner is also in good position to advance to November in the race for Harrington Councilmember No. 5. He has 58 votes, while Kelly Foreman has 31 and Steven Wright 21.

The closest primary election race is in Sprague for Councilmember No. 5. Jeffrey Smith is likely on his way to the general with 45 votes, but just one votes separates the second and third place candidates.

RonDel Krauter leads incumbent Trace De Garmo 27-26. This wouldn’t trigger an automatic recount if that figure holds, but a tie would, according to the Lincoln County Auditor’s Office.

One final count is likely Tuesday, Aug. 14 before the election is certified Wednesday, Aug. 15, Auditor Chandra Schumacher said.
