Dean Everett Reinbold

Mar. 27, 1943 – July 27, 2023

Dean Everett Reinbold 80, passed away at his home on July 27, 2023 after a long and courageous battle with health issues. Dean was a lifelong resident to the small town, born on March 7, 1943 to Robert and Helen Reinbold. Dean grew up on the family wheat and cattle ranch just North of Davenport in the Egypt area. Dean graduated from Davenport High School in 1961. At an early age Dean had a love for cars and worked at the local service station to earn money to support his drag racing habit. Dean raced up until 1966, setting a track record at Deer Park Race Strip. He worked on the family ranch his whole life.

Dean married the love of his life, Nicki Janett on July 15, 1967. The couple moved into their home on the ranch and began their family. Dean loved to hunt and had many hound dogs that he adored. Deer and elk hunting seasons were some of his favorite times of the year as that meant trips to the Blue Mountains to elk hunt and hunting on the ranch with friends from out of town. Dean was a member of the Davenport Gun Club and was active in the hunters' safety program for several years. He loved to take the kids hunting and would always be so proud when they got their first deer.

Mules were something that Dean enjoyed and raised with his dad. He had a team of mules that he drove and restored a buggy that he used for parades and weddings. Woodworking was a natural talent that he had and he loved making projects in his wood shop. His love for fishing was something that he and Nicki shared and they spent several summers during retirement fishing Twin Lakes together. Dean served as a fire commissioner for 33 years for Lincoln County Fire District #5, as well as serving as a volunteer firefighter. The many friends that he made were friendships that lasted a lifetime, and the love he had for his family and friends ran deep.

Dean always had a joke to tell and his laughter would light up a room. He always had a mischievous twinkle in his eye. Dean is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nicki at home, as well as his three children, Rob (Anna) Reinbold, Leslie (David) Johnson and Stacy (Casey) Breithaupt. He is also survived by his sister Diane (Bob) Martin. Dean loved his grandchildren deeply and is survived by his three grandchildren, Brady Dean, Abigail Breithaupt and Gage Reinbold, and three non-biological grandkids who were all special to him.
