Man claims NBA prescription

Seattle man arrested on seven charges

DAVENPORT — A Seattle man was arrested here after allegedly trying to pick up controlled substances from Davenport Pharmacy he claimed were prescribed to NBA player Draymond Green.

37-year-old Mahad Abdi Jama was booked into Lincoln County Jail Friday, Aug. 4 on seven criminal counts, including possessing another’s identification, fraud, first-degree criminal impersonation, making a false statement to a public servant, possessing drugs with no prescription, possessing controlled substances with no prescription and providing false information about controlled substances.

The initial incident occurred Friday, July 13 at Davenport Pharmacy, when employees there said a man was attempting to pick up fraudulently called-in prescriptions, according to police records.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputy Chris Wardlaw chased Jama down at 516 Morgan Street, and Jama initially gave him a false name, records state.

According to records, Jama’s name returned with a felony warrant for second-degree theft in Kittitas County, while a search of his pockets and his bag turned two unnamed Visa debit cards, a white VENMO debit card belonging to an Emma Eaton, a magnetic credit card reader and two debit cards under the name Ali Abdifetah.

Jama had driven with two others from Seattle to Davenport to pick up controlled substances they claimed were for Green, who plays for the Golden State Warriors, records state.

In the car Jama had driven to the pharmacy in, police also found a Sprite bottle with purple drink inside and four more debit cards. Two fraudulent drug prescriptions and four Adderall capsules were also found, as was a drivers license belonging to a Des Moines man, according to records.

Jama was rebooked into jail Aug. 4 after arriving at the Sheriff’s Office to pick up his impounded car, where he admitted he picked up a prescription under the name “Draymond Green,” records state.
