William G Hein (Bill)

William G Hein (Bill) passed peacefully surrounded by his wife, children and siblings June 24, 2023 after a brief battle with leukemia. Bill was born in Reardan, Wash., on Feb. 24, 1939. Bill grew up in a farming family just west of Reardan, the 4th of 5 children. He graduated from Reardan High school in 1957. He was an outstanding high school athlete and an avid hunter. He served honorably in the Air National Guard. Bill attended Spokane Community College for Body and Fender and was a gifted tradesman. He worked for McCall Chemical for several years before returning to run the family farm in 1969 until his retirement. Bill married Lynn Wilke on Sept 3, 1966 and the entire town of Reardan rejoiced.
He was preceded in death by his brother Jim Hein, his sister Rita Rooks, daughter Kris Fowler, nephew Doug Hein, and grandchild Celeste Fleetwood. Survived by his wife Lynn, son Greg (Cathlin), daughter Jill (Veldman), son Darren (Darcy), daughter Mary (Justin) Kibbe, brother Nick Hein, sister Carol Dahl, and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Bill was a lifetime member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Reardan. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his honor to St. Michael’s or the Reardan Library.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Reardan, Wash., August 25, 2023 at 10:00 am. Inurnment will follow at the mass at Reardan Cemetery and then to Bill & Lynn’s home in Reardan for refreshments.
