DAVENPORT — A replacement Educational Programs and Operations levy, and a separate capital projects levy, will be the topic of discussion at a special school board meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16.
Superintendent Chad Prewitt and business manager Dana Telecky told the school board at a regular meeting Monday, Sept. 25 that the two current four-year levies, valued at approximately $2.50 per $1,000 assessed property value and $1.15 per $1,000 assessed property value respectively, will expire at the end of 2024.
The district therefore plans to ask the voters to pass replacement levies in a special election in Feb. 2024.
The collection amounts and number of years the levy would run will be a topic of discussion at the Oct. 16 meeting.
In 2023, the district is collecting $782,000 for the programs and operations levy and $360,000 for the capital levy.
