Serving Lincoln County for more than a century!
DAVENPORT—The citizens of Lincoln County should start seeing their ballots arrive in the mail late next week.
The Auditor’s Office will mail ballots to 8,321 registered county voters Wednesday, Oct. 18.
Once ballots are completed and signed, they can be dropped in one of three locations countywide: inside the Lincoln County Courthouse, outside the Courthouse on Fourth Street and at the Harrington City Library.
Ballots can also be mailed in. They will be counted if postmarked by 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, which is the night of the general election.
Elections deputy Norm Caley recommended that citizens opting to mail their ballots do so prior to Election Night to ensure the post office stamps the ballot in time for it to be counted as a legal vote.
Races on a citizen’s ballot will depend on where that citizen resides in Lincoln County. Those in municipality limits will likely see races for city/town council and mayor, while all county school districts have candidates for school boards up for election.
County commissioner, hospital district, cemetery district, parks and recreation district and metropolitan park district races are also spread throughout the county.
