Jean Marble

Jean Marble

Jean was born to a military family who were stationed below the Mason-Dixon Line, at the time of her birth, a fact her father's family never quite forgave. Finally stationed on the west coast, Jean completed high school and college in the greater Los Angeles area. Graduating with a Master's equivalent education certification, Jean began her career in elementary education. Her love of children began at an early age, when she gave first and middle names to the 40 children she planned to have (by twin and triplets of course). By the time she met her husband, Robert, her goals had edited to four, and reality brought it to three. Jean is survived by her three children and their spouses: Katie (Craig), Alan (Marie), Joni (David), her first grandchild Abi, and her brother Jim (Doris), as well as many cousins and extended family. Jean's self-appointed position as family historian and genealogist kept her connected to extended branches of the family. She was known for her family newsletters at the holidays, sending enough note cards to keep USPS open, and including a teabag in your birthday card. Maintaining the history of the family farm through five generations, and placing the barns on the historic registry were part of her many achievements. Her final resting place will be in Washington close to the generation's farm. A funeral service will be held Monday Oct. 16, 2023 at 1:00pm Danekas Funeral Home 207 E. Main Ave. Ritzville, Wash.
