- County school superintendent Carl Morgan warned that many local school districts wouldn’t have enough money for a nine-month term.

- A.F. McPhee was released from Lincoln County Jail after serving 90 days for violating the prohibition law. He was caught with a load of liquor near Wilbur.

- A car driven by commissioner J.C. Mearns crashed with a six-horse team, killing one of the horses.

75 years ago

- The new Davenport Elementary School building opening was delayed due to the lack of a sewage system.

- The Reardan Lions Club announced it planned to sponsor a Lions Club basketball tournament around the holidays.

- Clifford Remour was charged with second-degree burglary for breaking into a store building used at a warehouse in Sprague.

50 years ago

- The Davenport Livestock Market reopened after a year-long closure due to financial problems.

- County engineer Dennis Eschilman resigned his position following a request to do so by the county commissioners. Neither offered official comments regarding the resignation request.

- The county commissioners said significant budget cuts were needed to balance the annual budget.

25 years ago

- Davenport’s Bob Olson bowled a perfect 300 for the first time in his 48-year bowling career.

- A possible Deer Meadows Resort on Lake Roosevelt was the topic of the fall meeting of the Lake Roosevelt Forum.

- Continued maintenance and operation of Memorial Hall was at the heart of a proposed one-year levy going before voters.

10 years ago

- Max Mielke and Allie Johnson were crowned Homecoming King and Queen of Davenport High School.

- The Record-Times moved into its current location at 1112 Morgan Street in Davenport.

- Charges were filed against the former manager of Davenport Food Mart including two counts of first-degree theft, one count of second-degree theft, one count of third-degree theft, two counts of unlawful issuance of bank checks and one count of making a false statement to a law enforcement officer.
