Annual Christmas Care Project coming soon
DAVENPORT — Applications for the annual Christmas Care Project are currently available for families who need assistance with gifts and a holiday meal for Christmas.
The application is available on the city’s website, and paper copies of the application are available upon request.
This year’s deadline for applications is Friday, Nov. 3. Any family living in the Davenport School District is welcome to apply.
In past years, the community has fulfilled requests from tags on the Sharing Trees. Sharing Trees tags will be available in area businesses the week before Thanksgiving.
Community members are asked to purchase the specific item listed on the tag and return it to the Sharing Trees by Friday, Dec. 1.
Donations are also needed to cover the costs of providing a holiday meal to each family and to purchase gift items not donated from the Sharing Trees. Donations can be dropped off at the Wheatland Bank’s Davenport branch (please specify the Davenport Christmas Care Project account) or mailed to: Christmas Care Project, P.O. Box 684, Davenport, WA 99122. Call or text Carey Guhlke-Falk at 307-699-4649 for more information.
