Oct. 14

Traffic stops: 11

A Davenport man reported an erratically driven Volkswagen passing three cars at a time at 100 mph westbound on Highway 2 from Bennett Road.

A Sprague man that cut off his finger with a power tool was reported.

A caller said two people were dumping trash on the side of the road, but the trash had fallen out of an RV trailer and the couple had pulled over to pick the bag up.

A Davenport woman said someone asked if volunteers at Care and Share wanted meth, but the man said he was joking about having amphetamines.

An automated alarm was reported going off in Odessa.

A Davenport woman said a man knocked on her door asking for gas and got mad when she wouldn’t let him inside.

A caller reported a woman standing in the middle of the road 200 yards east of Odessa.

A caller said they heard shots fired on the 45000 block of Highway 25.

A caller said someone walked onto his property and shot at a deer, then pointed his gun at the caller and claimed to be identifying him through a scope.

Oct. 15

Traffic stops: 1

A Davenport man said there were three youths trying to break into his house by filling up his basement with a garden house on the 500 block of Ninth Street.

A Davenport woman reported a man pulled over on Highway 2 at milepost 241 shooting north from the roadway before getting in his car and driving north on Telford Road.

A caller reported a man with multiple wildlife violations trespassing near Ring and Yarwood Roads outside Lamona.

A Creston woman said her soon-to-be-ex-husband was sending threatening texts and lying to their children.

A small fire was reported near the Copenhaver gravel pit on Highway 2 and Sunset Road outside Reardan.

A caller said a man was harassing him and his son by saying they couldn’t hunt on public land near Graedel and Bates Roads west of Odessa.

A caller said a truck backed into his vehicle.

A Medical Lake woman said her son got a Snapchat of a doll being hung with his football jersey number on it that was later burned prior to the Reardan vs. Lind-Ritzville/Sprague football game.

A caller said he heard “ordinance” going off southeast of Davenport.

A caller said hunters possibly shot a deer from a highway.

An employee at SpeedTrap Tap House in Reardan said an elderly woman hugged her when her husband went to the bathroom and whispered “call the cops, I need help.”

A one-vehicle non-injury crash outside Davenport was reported.

A caller said he picked up a 15-year-old boy near Cheney Plaza Road and dropped him off at the Sprague Motel, believing him to be a runaway.

A caller said he was worried about his wife.

Traffic stops: 1

A Spokane man reported a possible trespasser at the Lincoln Duck Club on Zimbelman Road.

A Davenport man said high schoolers scratched his car on the 600 block of Maxwell Street.

A caller reported a stolen flatbed truck on I-90 near Fishtrap.

A town code violation was reported on the 300 block of Audubon Way in Reardan.

A caller said an owl was on a road acting strangely and not moving.

A man eluding police was reported on I-90.

A Davenport woman reported an erratically driven car on Highway 2 just west of Davenport, then later in Reardan.

State Patrol reported a car speeding on Highway 2 over 90 mph heading into Reardan.

15 black cows outside a fence were reported on Highway 21 at milepost 62.

A caller said an elderly man locked himself out of his apartment on the 1200 block of Morgan Street in Davenport.

A caller reported two garbage bags with rotten meat on Harrison Road between Moos and Horlacher Roads in Waukon.

A Reardan girl said a woman who claimed to be her mother was abusing her.

A caller said he believed a boy was assaulting his mother at the trailer park in Sprague.

An expected death was reported on the 35600 block of Sherman Draw Road outside Wilbur.

A non-injury car crash was reported on Highway 25 at Miles-Creston Road.

Traffic stops: 4

A caller said she ran out of gas on Highway 2 near Ziemer Road.

An employee at Frontier Title in Davenport reported possible fraud.

A teacher at Sprague Elementary School said she was assaulted by a student.

A wallet was turned into the Sheriff’s Office.

Shoplifting was reported at the R Store in Reardan.

An Adult Protective Services referral was made on the 400 block of Division Street in Odessa.

A Harrington woman reported a landlord/tenant dispute in Odessa.

Papers were served to a woman on the 200 block of North Third Street in Sprague.

Papers were served to a man in Sprague.

A Davenport woman said her neighbor could be killing cats and raccoons with a BB gun on the 500 block of Ross Street.

A Davenport woman said she was wearing shots fired well after hunting hours on the 36500 block of Hart Road.

A caller said someone could have thrown a rock at her house, but it was discovered to be a stray cat knocking items over on the porch.

A caller reported a custody dispute with his ex-wife in Wisconsin.

Oct. 18

Traffic stops: 2

An automated voice caller reported a car crash outside Hardy Hardware in Davenport.

A caller said a man was walking around some of her outbuildings.

A 16-year-old girl in King County said Avista caller her saying services had been started at a residence in Harrington in her name.

A caller said his car was hit at Family Dollar in Davenport and the offending vehicle left.

A Harrington man said another man pushed him and said he had a pistol.

Oct. 19

Traffic stops: 6

A caller said a second-grade girl ran away from Davenport Elementary School on foot and was found hiding in her garage.

A Davenport man said his neighbor’s dog attacked his dog, wrecked his garden and damaged the lattice of his house on the 1100 block of Adams Street.

A Davenport man said his neighbor’s dogs were being neglected.

A wanted person was reported in Odessa.

A Reardan man reported a man that looked like he was loading up a railroad tie near Tramm and Surber Roads.

A burglary was reported in Odessa.

A 14-year-old girl chasing children around with a butcher knife was reported north of Davenport.

Traffic stops: 5

A Reardan woman said a chain got around one of her dog’s necks while playing and the dog was choking on the 36300 block of Highway 231.

A blue iPhone was discovered in Reardan.

A caller said his ex-wife hadn’t given his car back by the agreed date on the 1900 block of Klobuschar Draw Road north of Almira.

A Harrington man said a dog was hit by a train on Highway 23 and Second Street.

A Davenport woman said two petitioners refused to leave Safeway.

A caller requested a welfare check on his friend in Odessa whom he hadn’t heard from in a week.

Criminal court-Oct. 17

Christopher Allen Hill, who is charged with second-degree identity theft, had his case remanded to District Court.

Lily A. Schoenfelder, who is charged with second-degree identity theft, second-degree theft and three counts of third-degree theft, had her trial continued to Dec. 20. A readiness hearing was set for Nov. 21.

Christopher S. Stout, who was charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree assault, had his case dismissed after the alleged victims no longer wished to participate in the trial.

Harley Lance Burns, who is charged with second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm and fourth-degree assault, had his case continued to Jan. 10 with a readiness hearing set for Dec. 19.

Daylon Albert Walls, who is charged with driving under the influence, entered a not-guilty plea. A readiness hearing was set for Nov. 28 and a jury trial was set for Dec. 20.

Shawn Michael Fugere, who is charged with tampering with a witness, entered a not-guilty plea. Bail was set at $20,000. A readiness hearing was set for Nov. 4 and a jury trial was set for Dec. 6.
