Rape trial dismissed due to lack of jurors

DAVENPORT — A trial featuring a second-degree rape charge was dismissed last week after most people summoned for jury duty failed to appear. It’s an instance that’s becoming a Lincoln County trend, local officials say, and it has many within the county concerned.

Damion Michael Pegram was charged with second-degree rape and agreed to have his case go to trial, which was scheduled to begin Wednesday, Oct. 18. The case was dismissed by county Prosecuting Attorney Adam Walser due to a lack of available jurors.
