Board member resigns

REARDAN – The School District recognized Jeff Anderson for his eight-year tenure on the school board at its meeting Nov. 15. Anderson didn't file for re-election to his seat this year.

During his time on the board the district established a security program, passed a bond and navigated several crises.

"Our school board is phenomenal, and I'm proud to be a part of it," Anderson said.

Anderson, who is a battalion chief with the Cheney Fire Department and adjunct professor at Eastern Washington University, said, "This is a good time to step down and let others come in with fresh ideas."

"Jeff is one of the best leaders I have been around," superintendent Eric Sobotta said. "He is an innovative thinker who always did what was best for the students."
