Courthouse, fairgrounds improvements planned

DAVENPORT — The Lincoln County Commissioners approved the 2024 update to the county’s 6-year capital facilities plan at their regular meeting Monday, Dec. 4, as is typical practice during the annual budget cycle at the end of each calendar year due a requirement from the Growth Management Act.

All proposed projects are funded through real estate excise taxes, unless otherwise indicated.

Planned projects in 2024 include:

• $20,000 in state and local funds for a waste oil furnace at the Transfer Station.

• $25,000 in state and local funds for landscaping at Public Health’s new building.

• $320,000 for a new Courthouse roof.

• $100,000 for the planned covered arena at the Fairgrounds. The county received $1 million in the state biennial budget for this project during the 2023 legislative session.

• $80,000 for repainting District Court

• $118,000 to replace the chiller in the Public Safety building
