One killed in crash east of Sprague

Two others are injured in wreck

SPRAGUE — One man was killed and two women were injured in a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 90 about four miles east of the city Thursday, Dec. 7.

Angel A. Cuevas, 22, George was pronounced deceased after being transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center, according to a release from Washington State Patrol.

Litzy J. Arvivo, 22, Merced, California and Maira A. Guillen Baeza, 26, Moses Lake, were injured in the crash and also transported to Sacred Heart, the release said.

According to the release, a gold 2002 Saturn Vue driven by Arvivo was eastbound on Interstate 90 at milepost 249. Arvivo lost control and the Saturn rolled in the median before coming to rest on its top around 7:52 a.m., the release said.

The cause of the crash was speeding, State Patrol ruled. Arvivo and Guillen Baeza were wearing seatbelts, while State Patrol didn’t know whether Cuevas was buckled in.

The crash was the third fatal wreck in the Sprague area of Interstate 90 within a monthlong span. David D. Rosenberg, 20, McCleary was killed in a crash near Milepost 245 Nov. 11, while Sam B. Moore, 82, Spokane Valley, was killed in a crash at the westbound Rest Area Wednesday, Nov. 22.
