Davenport wrestlers visit Liberty

Girls compete in league meet at East Valley

SPANGLE - Davenport's boys wrestlers were among a host of schools that visited Liberty High School for the Brice Williams Invitational Saturday, Dec. 9.

And the girls team competed in a league meet at East Valley High School Thursday, Dec. 7.

Here are all the Davenport results from the week of competition.

Girls at East Valley

• In the 125-130 pound class, Emma Cash fell to Heather Wyborney of Wilbur-Creston by fall 2:20 before defeating Anastasyia Halme of Mary Walker by fall 0:52 to take third place.

• In the 130-135 pound class, Alyssa Kruger fell to Sienna Breneman of Deer Park by fall 0:25 and Madelynn Bowlby of Colville by fall 0:39.

Boys at Brice Williams Invitational

• In the 120-pound class, Noah Everett fell to Marcus Divelbiss of Mt. Spokane by fall 0:40 and Wyatt Gibler of Lind-Ritzville/Sprague by major decision 13-0.

• In the 126-pound class, Wayland Holmberg defeated Seth Finley of Mary Walker by major decision 14-2 before falling to Caleb Reardon of Columbia (Burbank) by decision 5-2. Holmberg then defeated Edgar Talavera of Brewster by fall 2:06 and Ayden Greenough of Burbank by fall 1:05 to take third place.

• In the 175-pound class, Solomon Holmberg defeated Talen Kent of Kettle Falls by fall 0:35 and Carson Reedy of Asotin by fall 1:38 before falling to Brody Schillinger by fall 2:32. Holmberg then defeated Peyton Cannon of Pomeroy by fall 2:22 before falling to Nathan Rasmussen of Selkirk by fall 1:01 to take fourth place.

• In the 175-pound class, Brody Schillinger defeated Kole Zimmerman of Pomeroy by fall 4:20 and Holmberg by fall 2:32 before falling to Clae Holling of Liberty by fall 2:11 to take second place.

• In the 190-pound class, Brock Gustaveson defeated Dylan Valadez of Mary Walker by technical fall 16-1 before falling to Curtis Winona of Pomeroy by major decision 12-2. Gustaveson then defeated Tyler Sloan of Burbank by fall 0:48 and Reed Whidman of Liberty by major decision 16-7 to take third place.

• In the 215-pound class, Carl Medhaug fell to Blake Chuckelnaskit of Lake Roosevelt by fall 0:31 and Matthew Garcia of Burbank by fall 0:34.

Davenport hosts the ASB Rumble at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15 and the Davenport Tournament at 10 a.m. this Saturday, Dec. 16.
