Heavy snow expected

NWS issues Winter Storm Warning

DAVENPORT--As temperatures begin to climb into the teens from single-digit and negative numbers, precipitation is expected to follow. The National Weather Service has predicted heavy snow totals from Tuesday, Jan. 16-Thursday, Jan. 18.

The Weather Service is forecasting between six and eight inches of snow in the Davenport/Reardan in that time span, with Wednesday, Jan. 17 expected to be the snowiest period of the three. Snow is expected to begin Tuesday night.

Three to six inches of snow is forecasted in the Odessa area.

A Winter Storm Warning was issued from 11 p.m. Tuesday to 4 a.m. Thursday in Davenport and from 10 p.m. Tuesday to 7 p.m. Wednesday in Odessa. Snow accumulations are projected to be heavier the further east one goes, with the Spokane metropolitan area and West Plains expected to get between eight to 12 inches of snow.
