Presiding judge Lech Radzimski slapped Pegram with a 108-month, or 11-year, prison sentence followed by three years in community custody at a sentencing hearing in Lincoln County Superior Court Friday, Jan. 5.

Pegram, who was originally charged with 13 crimes before pleading guilty to nine, committed the nine crimes between May and August 2022, records state. The first six occurred May 21, 2022, while the latter three occurred Aug. 22, 2022.

First, Pegram was convicted of two counts of third-degree assault for intentionally assaulting Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputy Chuck Wiedmer and Dr. Frederick Reed at Lincoln Hospital May 21, 2022.

He was also convicted of possessing a firearm after previously being convicted of attemping to elude, possession of a stolen firearm for said handgun being stolen and third-degree theft for stealing alcohol from Safeway in Davenport, records state.

May 21, 2022 was a day of criminal activity for Pegram, as he was also convicted of third-degree rape of a woman who didn’t consent to sexual activity with him that day, according to records.

Pegram’s latter three convicted crimes were committed Aug. 22, 2022 in a joint escape attempt with Cody J. Magruder. Magruder escaped from Lincoln County Jail that night before being found in a field outside Davenport the next morning.

Magruder was sentenced to 73 months in prison last March.

Pegram was convicted of first-degree malicious mischief for causing more than $5,000 in damages to Lincoln County Jail, custodial assault for assaulting corrections deputy Scott Blomgren and second-degree assault for assaulting corrections deputy David Husky, whose arm was broken in the altercation, records state.

As part of their sentences, Pegram and Magruder must pay $4,140.66 in restitution to the Sheriff’s Office, $468.41 to Blomgren and $59,660.37 to the Dept. of Labor and Industries.

A second-degree rape charge against Pegram was dismissed as part of the plea deal, according to records.

Pegram has a previous criminal history of custodial assault in Lewis County in March 2021 and charges of attempting to elude, second-degree malicious mischief and second-degree theft between April 2017 and Sept. 2020 in Spokane County. All previous crimes were committed when he was a minor, records state.
