New business coming to Odessa

Wild Roots Salon could open in Feb.

ODESSA-A local woman is opening a new business on the downtown First Avenue strip. Owner Danielle Hardung aims to open Wild Roots Market by Valentine's Day, Feb. 14 at 3 West First Avenue, where she is leasing the space from the same building owners that rent space to The Record-Times.

She said the business offers a variety of services, including a hair salon that also offers waxing and hair extensions.

"The salon will also retail professional hair and body products including Olaplex, Purelogy, Amika, Redken, Joico, Wet Brush and Hempz body lotions," Hardung said in an email.

The front portion of the building on First Street is being converted to a small bistro and vendors market, with the bistro offering food, espresso, beer and wine and the vendors market displaying goods from local artists and crafters.

"I also have carved away space in the back of the building to allow people to come in and host craft classes and smaller baby/bridal/birthday parties," Hardung said in an email. "I see this building as a gathering place for Odessa and I hope Odessa people enjoy the space."

Hardung said she will start with two employees, not including herself.

The Odessa office location of The Record-Times on the corner of First and Division Streets will remain occupied by the local newspaper, with Hardung's business opening south and west of the newspaper office.
