H.K. Bird, wrestling in the 150-pound weight class, went 2-0 in his matches. He pinned Austin Campbell of Colfax in 2:36 and Slack in 1:38.

"This was my first ever win," Bird said. "I didn't give up, and it feels so good. I've been listening to Carson Kline and my coaches, and it paid off today."

Alexis Taylor of Liberty pinned Danika Bretz in 5:16 in Bretz's only match of the day.

Wrestling at 190 pounds, Sterling McLaughlin went 1-1 on the day. He was pinned by Brock Gustaveson of Davenport but bounced back to defeat Traye Redburn via pin in 1:31.

Carson Durbin, wrestling in the 215-pound weight class, pinned Austin Stein of Asotin in 1:26 and Kyron Clovis of Asotin in 2:30.

"I think we did very well as a team," Reardan head coach Arron Mauzay said. "Most of our kids came away with pins, but H.K. (Bird) stood out. He threw in moves I've never even taught him. Everyone looked great, but we still need to work on our conditioning."

Reardan's boys will be at the league dual championships at Almira-Coulee-Hartline at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27.

Meanwhile, Bretz and other area girls wrestlers will conclude their regular season at Mead at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31 before the postseason begins next weekend.
