PUBLIC NOTICE AND EXPLANATION OF A PROPOSED
ACTIVITY IN A 100-YEAR FLOODPLAIN TOWN OF REARDAN
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Reardan is proposing
a construction project whereby a portion of which is located within the 100-year flood hazard zone of Audubon Lake.
The purpose of this notice is to satisfy procedural requirements
for the activities to be undertaken by the Town as a recipient of Washington State Department of Ecology’s Clean Water State Revolving Fund. This is an informational notice to inform citizens of the proposed project activities, and to allow for the citizens to comment on said proposed activities.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Project Title: I&I Reduction Project
Location: Town of Reardan Sewer Services Area. Project segments located within the FEMA 100-year Flood Hazard Zone are located along Poplar Street (Oak to SR 231), and Lake Street (Poplar Street to about 200-ft south of Poplar). The lift station is located at the corner of Oak Street and Poplar Street.
The total estimated project cost is approximately $2,900,000.
The proposed improvements include rehabilitating approximately
8,000 linear feet of 6” and 8” diameter sewer line using Cured-in-place pipe (CIPP), and about 4,000 feet of 6” and 8” diameter sewer mains using open trench sewer pipe replacement.
Additional work includes replacing or lining about 40 sewer manholes, reconnecting sewer services and associated surface restoration. Telemetry and electrical controls will be upgraded at Town’s main Lift Station.
All work within the flood hazard zone involves CIPP rehabilitation
and does not require any excavation or surface disturbances.
The floodplain will not be changed or adversely affected by the proposed project activities.
An overview of the proposed I&I Reduction Project will be available for review at the Town Hall. Comments may also be submitted in writing to the Town of Reardan through Friday, March 8, 2024.
Town Hall is handicap accessible.
