Spikes used in vehicle pursuit

DAVENPORT—Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies were forced to deploy spikes to stop a vehicle attempting to elude police during an attempted traffic stop Tuesday, April 9.

Eventually, Alyssa Kay Bray, 27, of Keller, was stopped about three miles west of the city and arrested on charges of attempting to elude and driving under the influence around 11:07 p.m. Tuesday, jail records show.

Sheriff Gabe Gants said a citizen called the office about a car driving all over the road three miles north of the city on State Highway 25. The driver allegedly turned onto Morgan Street and drove through town about 47 miles per hour.

Gants said deputies attempted to move in front of the vehicle while in pursuit and eventually laid down spikes to stop the vehicle.

Bray remained booked in Lincoln County Jail at press time.
