Reardan falls to Medical Lake

Odessa baseball wins six straight

MEDICAL LAKE - It was another week of mixed results for local baseball and softball teams. The hottest team in the area is the Odessa baseball team, which has won six straight road games after dropping a doubleheader to Almira-Coulee-Hartline in the season opener.

Odessa swept Republic in an all-Tigers matchup in Ferry County Tuesday, April 9. The road Tigers won the first game 13-6 and the second game 23-6 to improve to 6-2.

The Tigers have two more road doubleheaders this week. First up is a matchup with Wellpinit in Hunters, where the Redskins play their home games, Saturday, April 13.

Then, Odessa heads to Wilbur to play the rival Wildcats Tuesday, April 16. The Tigers are currently No. 8 in the state 1B RPI rankings.

Reardan's baseball and softball teams didn't find as much success. The softball team lost a singleheader to Medical Lake 12-0 Wednesday, April 3 before 16-9 and 14-6 losses at Asotin Tuesday, April 9.

Softball is 3-7 this season and will look to turn things around in a doubleheader at Kettle Falls Tuesday, April 16.

And the baseball team is also 3-7 after 17-12 and 15-4 losses at Medical Lake last Wednesday and two subsequent 4-3 and 31-5 losses to Asotin Tuesday.

Davenport softball was off for spring break last week and hosts Colfax Friday, April 12. The baseball team also hosts Colfax at 2 p.m. Friday.
