Two Walk-A-Thons this weekend

ODESSA — Two unrelated Walk-A-Thons will be hosted in Odessa and Reardan Sunday, April 28.

In Odessa, Go! Odessa Recreation is hosting its annual Walk-A-Thon from 1-3 p.m. at the high school track. Mostly students participate in the free of charge walk, and students receive a pledge packet to collect flat pledge donations that raise money for the program and activities costs, organizer Kaylene James said.

Runners will complete as many laps as they can during the Walk-A-Thon, she said.

And in Reardan, the Presbyterian Church is hosting its 11th annual Walk For Water at 11:30 a.m. The 4-mile walk to raise funds and awareness of the global water crisis begins at Reardan Town Park and goes until 2:30 p.m., organizer Virginia Henderson said. The walk is free, with donations encouraged.
