Tigers sweep Waterville, split with Curlew

ODESSA - The Tiger baseball team continued to put together a winning season this week, coming out victorious in three of the four games played over the last week.

Odessa swept Waterville-Mansfield 18-16 and 13-8 Saturday, April 20 and split a doubleheader with Curlew 12-19 and 11-7 Tuesday, April 23.

The week's results mean Odessa is 11-5 this season. The Tigers were ranked No. 10 in the state RPI rankings at press time.

Odessa has won five of its last six games after losing two games of a doubleheader to Wellpinit Saturday, April 13.

The Tigers have just four games left in the regular season. Odessa hosts Northport for a doubleheader Saturday, April 27 and concludes the regular season with a doubleheader at Selkirk Tuesday, April 30.

The District 7/9 Tournament, where the top five finishers will advance to state, begins the following week from May 7-11. The top four teams from District 7 will qualify for the tournament.

Odessa currently sits in third place in the Northeast 1B, behind Almira-Coulee-Hartline and Northport.
