Jacobsen signs with EOU

Another Davenport High School graduate is joining the Eastern Oregon University track and field team. Senior Jensyn Jacobsen signed her letter of intent to throw javelin for the Mountaineers last week.

Jacobsen is the fourth DHS graduate to compete for the Mountaineers in the last few years. Her sister, Lainy, is in her senior season for EOU, while grads Winston Telford and Evan Gunning are also on the roster.

"College sports has always been in the back of my mind," Jacobsen said. "Sports is a huge part of my whole family and what we identify with."

Jacobsen currently has the sixth-highest javelin mark in the state for 2B girls. Her season-best throw of 114'5 came at a league meet in Davenport April 23.
