Schillinger to wrestle for Wazzu

Davenport senior Brody Schillinger will wrestle for Washington State University's Division III wrestling program next season.

Schillinger will join DHS grad Cody Jenkins on the team. He said familiarity with the Cougar coaching staff and relationships formed when the Cougars stayed at DHS multiple years in a row in advance of Spokane tournament play helped lead to his decision.

The senior finished in fifth place for 185-pounders at the state Mat Classic in Tacoma in February, and has been looking forward to Cougar wrestling for some time.

"I've gotten caught watching WSU meets on my phone in class," he joked.
